Love knows no boundaries, but the physical distance between partners can sometimes test even the strongest relationships.
Whether you’re separated by cities, countries, or continents, these heartfelt long-distance relationship quotes capture the unique beauty of loving someone from afar. From literary giants to modern-day romantics, these words of wisdom remind us that true love can flourish across any distance.
I’m from California in the US and my wife is from the northern part of Sweden. The most intense time in our relationship was more than a decade ago, when we lived in different places and could only see each other once a year. We’ve been together for almost 1 and half years at that time.
Our love language is cuddling, cuddling, watching movies together on the sofa, things that require each other’s physical presence. However, at that time, we could only stay in touch through very limited means such as online or remote mailing gifts.
I am very similar to her. When we first met last year, the best time was cuddling or taking my dog (a puppy at the time) for a walk. Cooking together, we laughed our asses off when she tried to get me to pronounce different foods in Swedish. The little things, the daily little things, these are the moments we talk about the most when we are apart.
Pretty much every single person I’ve talked to who’s been in a long distance relationship has told me to break up and move on before I get to attached/involved… I can understand their point, they obviously care and they understand that this kind of relationship comes with a lot challenges and IT IS difficult.
Despite this, we still made it to the end. Today I collected these quotes, hoping to help more couples who are going through the torture of long-distance relationships.. I praise love itself.
And in case nobody has praised you today, I want you to know that — you are doing great! Being alive is a great victory in itself.
